I get asked a lot about my process for digital painting So, here is a quick illustration showing my digital painting process. I start with a sketch for step 1. Step 2 is to block in the main colors for everything. I try to get all the main colors down up front to help me visualize all the parts together and get my main color palette from the beginning. Then I start refining everything with focus on the face for this one. I keep refining everything together until I get to my finished painting. I go from broad strokes in the beginning to smaller details as I progress. I do tend to leave everything fairly broad and abstract for the entire process, but that is just my style.
