Description Recently I've been getting into the Mario series. I mean I've been playing the games forever, but I've never actually got really "into" Mario as a series. So I decided to start drawing some fan art. I couldn't really come up with any good settings for pics rather than blank pics with certain characters. So then I just doodled this and I thought,"Why not?". So we have Yoshi having a bit of a rough time with a Chain Chomp, and then Mario comes to save Yoshi. I try to draw Mario in the same style he is in the concept art of the old NES/SNES games. I personally prefer Mario in this style because he's short and chubby. I'm not sure if anyone else has noticed this but, I noticed that in the newer games Mario seems thinner like he lost some weight over the years. I mean compare these two pictures and you'll see what I mean. [link] [link] I find that pretty interseting.

Very cute pic! Your Mario drawing looks like the way Mario looked in the old Super Mario World cartoon show.

Thanks! I actually tried to make Mario look like how he did in the concept art of the NES/SNES games.

I always like the older Mario. Also, If you look at the Super Mario Bros. 2 Cover, you can see that Mario's leg is placed awkwardly! [link]

Yeah, that's because it's the US boxart for Mario.
