how you managed to capture this with your current equipment (D3100, and I think that's a kit lens? correct me if I'm wrong) is juz~~staggering!

aww thank you!!
ah I've actually used a macro lens filter as well as the D3100. its just a small cheap one but it works pretty well.

hmmm...the macro lens filter, I remember...was it that thing where you "reverse" the mounting of the lens? it makes the lens vulnerable but there's great macro rewards for such a risk, obviously~~~^^

and yay for the D3100 alright~~ Back then in 2011, I did consider the D5000 but ultimately chose the D3100~~ this camera never let us down ya know~~~ ^^

aww I've heard of that too! i'll have to try it. ah but these are just little filers you screw on the end of your lens and they magnify. I found a four pack on amazon for $12. aww yes!! I'd have liked the D5000 as well. but I was on a budget so I went with the d3100.

wuuu I see~~~ yep I juz recently researched on it, I thought it was that other thing I explained here (I think that was called an "adapter" instead)~~ But yep, there really are macro filters existing huh~~ My filter's juz a "depolarizing filter", kinda reduces glare but I think its main purpose is to keep the real lens' glass clean...
I was planning on getting an ND filter though.

And yep, the D5000 has the same sensor as the D90, but the D90 was juz too much for the budget, the D5000 was supposedly the alternative but yep, I ended up with the D3100 'coz it was around cheaper a bit than the D5000. I think the ultimate reason why I took the D3100 was because the D5000 has its silly swivel-tilting screen...
Anywayz, NO REGRETS with the D3100~~ we know it's a competitive DSLR on its own right~ there are even D3200 reviews that says the D3100 was better than the D3200, so yep we got a good DSLR on this one~!^^

It's nice to see a macro of a fly. Β Most people (me included) tend to take photos of bees.

Aw thank you! I was actually aiming to take a photo of a bee and all of a sudden a fly was there! so I was able to snap a quick pic of it before it flew off.
