Long exposure can be used to do some pretty wicked effects, this is a good example

Is this applicable when using a digital camera?

Of course. This was taken with a digital camera afterall. You just have to be able to set your shutter speed to fairly slow...around 1 - 4 seconds should do. This was with 4 seconds slow shutter speed.

cool
wait...a long exposure shot of a moving band? wouldnt it come out blurry?
this was a non moving guitar and a moving flashlight that created the light streaks

nah, if you use a flash and long exposure it comes out cool, by long i meant about 1-4 seconds.
also wanna get some shots of fire poi ive seen some on here, they look cool.

I absolutely love this! It still amazes me the things you can do with a slow shutter speed and light.
