Sadly, it is a badger fur coat. I think that's his totem beast. It's at least one of the Mephitidae though, right?
(Oh- nope, it's just a stinkin' Mustelidae.)

They both used to be under Mustelidae, but apparently Mephitidae got broken out sometime since I read that book about Mustelids. That seems to be rather the trend - those classifications are constantly shifting.
