Description
Fox and Krystal get to know the newly recruited Miyu off duty.This is another Star Fox digital painting I decided to do. The series could benefit by getting more in depth in character development and conversation.
I wonder what they are talking about…

I'm amazed by your level of performance. Every character on the pic looks alive and breathtaking. The emotions seen on your pictures are simple to guess, but they aren't classic stereotypes, which make the picture more realistic (and awesome)
I love the way you make their clothes. They look casual and normal, but also futuristic. It's the work of those "lines" which separate the colors and go through whole piece of clothing.
(Is that understandable?)
I also like Krystal's uniform and hairstyle. You made her look hot, but not too hot, normal, but sexy
Fox' clothes design is fine.
I'm also amazed by surroundings. It's blurred because of focusing the pic on characters, but even if blurred, it sure is polished, detailed and great.
One funny thing, though. I can't find your signature on this pic. Where it is?
"Chit chat with Miyu" really deserves a Daily Deviation.

Now for the short story:
------
...Krystal walked through Great Fox III in search for her love, but couldn't find him anywhere, so she opened her mind in search of his rushed thoughts.
'God, Fox, try to not fuck up, try to not fuck up...' she heard when she was passing by the repair room. She entered it to find that her vulpine is standing in front of their new recruit, Miyu Blackbolt.
"Oh, hi Krystal. Let me meet you with Miyu, our second mechanic and best sniper on Lylat" Fox said, kissing his blue love.
"We met before... On Macbeth, i guess" Miyu said, shaking hands with the vixen.
"Oh. I didn't know"
"How do you like Great Fox?" Krystal asked.
"It's better... And bigger than the first one" she said.
"You was on Great Fox?" Krystal gasped, staring at Fox.
"Yeah, it was about 17 years ago. Miyu and her friend, Fay, joined our team. But then, the company named N-10-do, which was supporting our team, rejected their offer"
"Oh, i'm sorry" Krystal said, then kissed her vulpine, making him blush. "Excuse me, but I need to go now. See you later!" the vixen said, getting out of the room.

Okay, I didn't have much time, so this one is lame, compared to my last comment-o-story.
Btw. Starfox 2 release date was 1995.

I like to draw characters in a more casual setting. It makes it the more interesting.
The design of the clothing, specifically Fox's and Miyu's, was inspired by athletic sports wear where the lines seem to accent the form of the body. Krystal's cat suit was redesigned to appear more protective compared to the Assault counterpart. Her hair was changed to be more sexier well... because she was partly meant for visual appeal.

Miyu: "What was that!!!"
Suddenly, the alarm bell just rang out.
Krystal: "Oh no, I feel something bad is going on."
Fox: "What is it Krystal???"
Krystal: "I feel like.... the whole alien fleet is attacking our city!!!"
Miyu: '' Oh hell no, not again??"
Fox :"Quick , to the Arwing!!! Oh, Miyu, I need you to call for Nora and her team, tell them ready for action!!!''
Miyu:" You got it boss!!"
Krystal: " Can I come with you???"
Fox :"NO , it's too dangerous , we don't know who or what are attacking us. I need you to stay in the Great Fox with R.O.B."
Krystal: "But ... but."
Fox : "No but, I don't want to lost you again."
Krystal: "Ok, but , be careful out there."
Fox : " Don't worry, I'll be fine."
Krystal :" Promise???"
Fox : "Promise!!!!"
Then they huged and kissed to each other.
Miyu :" AWww, c'mon guys, we've got a job to do."

Fox : "Well ..."
Krystal : "Yeah, we have. That Planet is so beautiful, but the human are so war-like. I mean when they saw us , they just sent out figher and chased us."
Fox : "Heck, their pilots are really so tough"
Miyu : "That's strange? Last time i came there, the human are the most peaceful race i ever seen."
Fox&Krystal :"What do u mean?"
Miyu : "I think they just are at war with someone or something"
Krystal :" OMG , u mean they had meet the other heartless alien race
Miyu: "Yeah"
Fox : " Well, We must go there and find out WTH is going on !"

So um what programs did you use for this?

I only used Photoshop for this one. For the rest I largely sketch it out on any piece of paper and digitally paint over it.

It's a pretty straight forward approach. It's easy only if I'm not distracted by family annoyances, work, or lack of sleep.

Very cool. Hopefully if Nintendo plays their cards right and reveal the new SF Game for the Wii U later this year, we could expect to see Miyu make her apperance to join the team. ^^

I know I've commented on this before, but I'll do so once again, you are very good with anatomy and expressions, I absolutely love how you draw the hands, no matter how much I practice by using references, I can never get it right, but, I know that obviously it also took you a long time to reach the level of drawing you're in, but dang... I practice so much.
You know, to be honest, I imagined Miyu had two potential types of voices, one possibility is Tara Strong (Voicing Cindy from the Boondocks, the blond girl in this clip of the awesome TV Show [link] ) or Maryke Hendrykse (Voicing the dual wield chick, Revy, in Black Lagoon [link] )

I appreciate the compliment. ^^ I have read a few tutorials on drawing hands both in books and on the web. To me, getting the hands looking right is toughest things to draw, so you are definitely not alone when more practice is needed. I myself have to look back at instructions to draw hands often.
A good way to start becoming better at drawing hands is to examine your own hands. Practice on quick gestures, form, shape, and rendering. Usually I take a blank sheet of paper and literally fill it with sketches of different hand poses. This way any artist can develop a visual vocabulary for not only hands but other things as well.
Oh! And don't worry if the first bunch of hands doesn't look quite right. I forget about using the eraser and just move on! You can get better at it as you continue. 
Miyu could have those voices definitely. I dunno why, I imagined that her voice had an Australian accent like Sam Byrne from Gears of War 3, voiced by Claudia Black. And I also imagined her as one of the toughest female SF characters around with her tomboyish and conceited attitude.
