Description
I don't like talking politics. Here's a million messy brushes to speak for me.
CLARIFICATION: I think I'm entitled to express my feelings through art. This picture isn't showing that I think BP should be crucified; it's displaying my deep sadness for the beautiful creatures and reefs that are paying the price for their unfortunate mistake.

I know they fked it up horrifically and I think at this point they know that too. It cost them well over a billion dollars to clean up that oil spill in the gulf and they are probably still cleaning up some of it today. That added with a lot of employees that got fired and/or arrested for that mess. They may never live down that incident, but its clear that since then they have learned their lesson and have seriously improved their methods. Who knows? Maybe at some point soon all of the water and marine wildlife will go back to normal.

My first thought was that Squidward exploded or something.... But reef pollution is even worse.

If you look at old episodes like Ripped Pants, Texas and Karate Choppers, you can see that Sandy does not have her tail outside the suit when she's out in the ocean. It's pretty much all over season one. So if she has the option to tuck her tail into the suit while the ocean is full of grime, why wouldn't she? I think it makes sense.

Wow, I never thought about this. It would make a nice story or special or something. Not sure the studio that produces Spongebob would take it as seriously as it actually is though.

This is so incredibly sad, i feel bad for all those little creatures. Messy as this pic is, it does show how much of a mess we make to our environment now a days.

It's all the enviornmentalists fault. Don't blame Obama, Bush, or the CEO of BP. Yes they should have handled it better, but it's not their fault.
I am enviornmentalist, I blame myself too. Palin suggested we drill in a wildlife reserve in alaska containing an endangered species of wolves. People like me said, "No, we can't kill of the wolves." So we start drilling more in the gulf instead.
People, drilling is much more efficeçient nowadays. We won't harm much wild life drilling on land. Plus, if an oil spill had happened on land, it would be millions of more times fixable, and would barely kill as many animals.
Enviornmentalists are to blame, not politics

Or maybe lets say... Oil is to blame, or more like the psychological dependence our world's society has to oil. If we used more, more and more, renovable energy insed of oil and other un-renewable energy sources then, we wouldn't have spills because we wouldn't need to drill for oil in the first place.

I'm mostly just a random watcher. I don't even go on DeviantART much anymore.
But your picture, though I'm not a big fan of Spongebob.....makes me very sad inside.
The BP oil spill is probably the biggest mistakes I think I've ever seen to happen. From what I know, they could have prevented it if they just spent a little more in order to make safety valves, but I don't know if this information is accurate.
your picture is very inspiring in my opinion. it truly explains the travesty that is the BP oil spill.
Soon a lot of the coral reefs especially in Key west will be destroyed. Beaches will be miserable. People will get sick. Animals will die (if not more than they have.)
The irony of it all is that it happened on Earth day. But I'm rambling.
Anyway. I'd just like to say. This picture is very emotional for me. :3 Good job on it.
