Description
Clone Commander Duke of the 12th Legion. Duke was one of the clones that survived the Battle of Geonosis, and would later serve in the clone unit known as the 12th Legion, and would be placed under the command of Jedi Master and General Qui-Gon Jinn. To honor his new general, Duke and the clones of the 12th Legion began coloring their armor with emerald green colors. Duke’s actions clearly pleased Qui-Gon, as the Jedi Master often confided in Duke, creating a strong bond of friendship between the two; one that was said to be rivaled by those of Rhydon Kenobi and ARC Commander Zeus, Katelyn Kenobi and ARC Commander Arthur, or even Obi-Wan Kenobi and Commander Cody, and Anakin Skywalker and Captain Rex.

Duke served in many battles with Qui-Gon, and their friendship had grown well. During one battle against the battle droids, a commando droid armed with a vibro-sword was about to stab Qui-Gon when he wasn’t paying attention, and Duke jumped in the way, and blasted the droid away, but as the droids body fell away, the vibro-sword slashed across Duke’s right cheek. The wound was not life threatening, but it eventually became a scar, which Duke wore proudly, and with confidence.

As the Clone Wars progressed, Duke’s friendship and loyalty to Qui-Gon Jinn and the Jedi grew stronger. Duke was one of many clones who stood by their Jedi generals, and defended them from those who sought to humiliate and belittle the Jedi in the eyes of the people of the Republic. He was also one of the rare few non-Jedi beings that were allowed daily entrench into the Jedi Temple, and was able to mingle with many Jedi inside the sacred Jedi structure.

When the Clone Wars was nearing to a close, Qui-Gon told Duke that the 12th Legion was being deployed to the planet Kashyyyk, to help Master Yoda, the 41st Elite Corps, and the Wookiees defend the planet from the droid army; they were even being assisted by Katelyn Kenobi and the 82nd Attack Battalion. While Commander Gree of the 41st Elite Corps stayed with General Yoda at the command post, Qui-Gon lead the 12th Legion into battle, not shirking in his responsibility as a Jedi General. During the battle, Duke received Order 66, and while he confirmed that he would follow through, he really had no intention to execute his Jedi General at all. Unfortunately for Duke, Order 66 was still distributed among the clones, and many of them were planning on following it through.

As Duke took Qui-Gon’s side against the clones following Order 66, he was glad to see many other clones who were willing to remain loyal to the Jedi as well. As Duke and the loyalist clones of the 12th Legion stood their ground and fought back, they soon found themselves being rescued by gunships and shuttles filled with additional clone troopers that appeared to be smaller than the other clones. One of the clones approached Duke and Qui-Gon, blasting at the clone traitors, and directed them towards the gunships, which Duke and Qui-Gon followed. Upon boarding the gunship however, Qui-Gon ordered that they needed to pick up Katelyn and Yoda, along with their respective commanders if they were still loyal. It was here that the smaller clone talked to Qui-Gon, stating that there were already teams picking up the other Jedi and their loyal clones.

What shocked Duke and the rest of the remaining loyalist clones of the 12th Legion was that the voice of the clone that reported that the other Jedi were being rescued, sounded female. The clone then removed its phase two helmet, and revealed that the clone was a female clone, with red hair tied back into a ponytail. After this, the rest of the clones that came with her also removed their helmets, revealing that they too were female clones. This shocked Duke and his men, since the entirety of the Clone Wars was fought by male clones.

The female clone that lead the others identified herself as Lieutenant Scarlett, and that she was ready for further duty. It was here that Duke noticed that her armor, as well as that of the rest of the female clones, had the emerald green colors of the 12th Legion. After leaving Kashyyyk, Duke and the others made their way to the secret Jedi planet called Ossus, where Duke began making some adjustments in the 12th Legion, so as to include the new female clones. Because of her rank, as well as the impressive skills she showed in battle, Duke chose Lieutenant Scarlett to serve as his second-in-command. This would cause Duke and Scarlett to grow close to one another, and eventually the two fell in love with each other.

Eventually Duke and Scarlett married, and produced several children that would come to be included in the ranks of the Jedi Loyalist Clone Forces, which was eventually reorganized into the Amidala Empire. As time went by, Duke continued to serve under Qui-Gon Jinn, and lead the 12th Legion against the Galactic Empire and its stormtrooper corps. This was something that Duke was more than happy to do, as he viewed the stormtroopers as nothing more than cheap knockoff copies of the clones. He was initially hesitant to trust the Rebel Alliance that was forming to fight the Empire, but he was more than willing to help train them, to make the Rebel soldiers more competent in battle.
