The Colicoid Swarm was a sister ship to General Grievous' flagship, the Invisible Hand, and—along with the Lucid Voice—was used to intimidate the Republic into surrendering. With the Colicoid Swarm's grey coloring, the ship was similar enough to the Invisible Hand in spite of its dark hull tones and red bow striping—which was different from the Invisible Hand's yellow markings. This led victimized worlds into believing that they were being attacked by the Invisible Hand—and therefore Grievous himself.
