Eerie stuff... Maybe it's the black and white acrylic- but it makes me think of the old Universal horror flicks- the face looks similar to Lon Chaney.
Cool stuff. You always manage to surprise me

Thanks Evan. I had to look up Lon Chaney, but you're right. He does kinda look like him.

Yeah- he's the guy who played Phantom of the Opera in the original silent film. Very creepy. Similary freakiness to this latest painting. In a good way

Thank you very much. Yeah, even the pictures I found of him where he wasn't made up, he was still creepy looking. Ekkkkk ! ! !

Yes- he was a weird looking dude. Guess he found his calling though.
And I will donate to no such cause. Form a foundation, and maybe I'll read your brochure.

I guess I'll have to look at him with envy, all I got was the weird looks.
Brochure? Do you realize, that due to you not doing your part, adverbs have had to resort to street violence? Alright damnit! I'll form a foundation.

Hey man, all words have to put up with rough upbringings. How often do you see abused adjectives and verbs? Misused and left to the wayside. Why so much preference for the "poor adverbs"?
It's political isn't it? Like Angelina's African baby adoption- you just go straight to the ones in the spotlight and forget about the ones at home. Well sir, once I see the brochure- I'll consider an investment.
Until then, I'll continue supporting my "A.A.A. - Abused Ajectives Anonymous" meetings.
They're discreet, confidential, AND non-profit.

Really? Descreet, confidential, AND non-profit? I happen to know that 70% of all contrabutions given to the A.A.A. is used to line the pockets of the, already rich, nouns. 20% is used to sponsor the conjunction olympics. Who knows what happens to the other 10%. If you're comfortable throwing your money away to such shifty charity, then sure, go ahead. You should do some research in to abused adverbs. Some of the photos I've seen are, franky, shocking. Adverbs are dying Evan! (i had to use this alread over used movie line)

Hmmm. You present a poignant argument.
However, you forget that my illegitimate infant son was killed suddenly in a freak hot dog vending accident caused by a drunken adverb. Therefore, my hardened exterior is really just a flawed reasoning that covers a truly warm/caring heart. Unfortunately, my stubborn ways cannot be swayed until the end of the movie- when a heroic adverb saves my life by holding up the falling elevator - whose cables were cut by a villainous Prepositional Phrase; at which point I admit the error of my ways in a teary confession.
So there.

I'm very sorry man. I was completely unaware of your checkered past with adverbs. I'll move along now, and find others to further my cause. DAMN! Prepositional phrases can be so.....prepositional!

Awesome work man, great symbolism, I like that the lonely person is faceless and persecuted. And that the persecution could come from themselves or from others. What are the three poles?

Jeff1966 In reply to DiamondHull [2007-06-14 21:51:09 +0000 UTC]
Thanks man. Yeah, I kinda saw the persecution as coming from both or either place too. The three poles? Even thought they are in the background, I still see them as driven, in a way, into his back. A sort of external pain, or mental pain, rather than a physical one.
