Description
Acrylic on Masonite board (7-1/2 inches X 12 inches)This is a picture that I was working on earlier this year, before I stopped painting again. Most of you who know me, know that I do not believe in anything supernatural. This is just an odd coincidence.
I have recently been communicating with a brother of mine, Robert, that I have been out of contact with for about 21 years now. I was unaware that he has now had two bouts with cancer. One nearly killing him, but he's managed to work his way past it. Good job Robert. And I am very thankful that he has. I've been reading things that he has written on line, and found us to be of strikingly like mind. Except, he is WAY smarter than I am. (that's not saying much, sorry for the insult Robert. lol)
Anyway, he has been talking to me about my art work, and kinda rekindled my interest in it. So I started going through the last paintings I was working on, and found this one. Seemed like a good time to post it. The title written on the back was "Cancer".

Very well drawn and colored. The colors give a good expression and mood toward the feeling that patients and family members feel.

You've got this perfect. Cancer is ugly, and it's anonymous - it will latch on to anyone - no matter of status or wealth. It will rob you of so many important things, and it will scare you. Even when you think it's gone, it's a scary shadow just lurking around every corner. None of us knows when we will turn that corner and it will see us.
I have a family member who has cancer too, as well as a few friends. I hate it.
It's nice that you've been able to get in touch with your brother.

Thank you very much. It's nice to know it came out so right. You're very kind.
Yeah, it's mind blowing for me to get in contact with my bother again. It gave me a little more reason to get up in the morning.
I hope things turn out as well for your family member who has cancer, as it did for my brother. It seems that it is becoming more, and more common that people beat it.

So did you just not know that he existed, or was there something that made you separate?
I love happy endings!
Thank you for the well wishes on my loved one.

Yeah, I knew he existed. But we just really hadn't communicated. I met him once when he was 14, and he's now 35. So we've been out of touch for 21 years now. I'm very glad to get to know him again. I don't intend to let us get that distant again.

It's true that absence makes the heart grow fonder. My sis and I used to fight like crazy - but now that we live apart, we're like best friends.
