*sigh* Ok.This is Furaffinity. Or deviantArt. Wherever you're reading it. In either case, it's in the fetish community.
We submit art here, free from personal ties. This is a safe place where you, as an artist, can put up the things you can't share with your family or friends in real life, most of the time. We draw things we find cute or provocative or otherwise interesting that we know we won't find elsewise, or at least want to draw our way. In either case, this is a forum of people who want to escape from the real world and just enjoy themselves. Just for a little bit via internet proxy.
This kind of self-righteous horseshit- and that's ALL it is- is the absolute antithesis of that. This hyper-political anti-whoeverthefuck attitude is disgusting. I have to deal with this on the street. I have to deal with this at home. I have to deal with this in fucking multiplayer videogames. I have to. I don't have any way to protest anywhere else.
But fucking /here/? You're gonna drag your filthy laundry /here/, where we all gather from every race, nationality, country, sexual orientation, sexual identity, language, walk of life, in the simple pursuit of surface pleasure and sharing our artistic abilities, be they great or just passable, with everyone everywhere /for free/ because we just want positive attention and we want to share our creations in a friendly all-accepting environment;
You're going to bring your highly opinionated garbage here, just to cause a fucking mess. You egotistical, self-important wad. What could you possibly hope to accomplish? You are only tainting and poisoning the one safe place most of us have.
Go post political shit on a forum for it. Leave us alone.
This is a rant directed at anyone who does this. If you're ok with this kind of thing, or you do this yourself, don't fucking talk to me. I don't care who you are. If it's political and you aren't trying to honor the victims of a terrorist attack or a national holiday- if you're making a post HERE just to stir the pot about which party's cock you suck- seriously go to hell. I don't want you watching me, and I don't want your feedback.

By no means were you intending for this to happen or probably even expected it. When I read this one sentence here: "This is a safe place where you, as an artist, can put up the things you can't share with your family or friends in real life, most of the time." I stopped reading for a moment. And in that moment, I rethought my entire life. And given that that sentence prompted this, in a good way I mean, I'm going to say this. For a long time, more than at least ten years I've had a fetish for feet/paws and tickling. I haven't ever said that...ever. I'm so self conscious about how I go about it. And as a result, for every year I've had these fetishes, I've hidden it, and I've hidden it well. As much as I want to, I never add anything related to it to my favorites, save for one request, in the unlikely event someone I know stumbles across my account. Not a single other person that knows me has any idea. I felt apprehensive, afraid even, to let it be known. I protected the secret to the point of almost denying it to myself. As much as I tried to pretend I had no fetish, I was still drawn to the pictures. But when I saw that one sentence, I felt like a two ton weight had been lifted off my shoulders. I really needed someone to flat out tell me I could be my true self in this community. And why not? No one here would judge, because then it would just be rude and hypocritical. Finally just allowing myself to realize the truth I'd been hiding and it brings relief, but there is an opposite I felt to the statement. People think that fetishes are weird, in general, and this makes it hard to find people to talk to, to remind you that you're ok and shouldn't be ashamed or embarrassed by your feelings. That particularly has been the trouble for me. In these communities, I view thousands of images by all sorts of artists and I enjoy seeing them sending or receiving gifts from the friends they've made in the fetish community. I've been here on DeviantART for almost five years now, and I just looked at stuff without an account for years prior to that with a desire to get involved and let myself loose on the internet. However, I haven't really made friends with anyone. I hide it too much, afraid of the criticism that might come. But as I think about it now and look over all the things I've seen; all the images and short stories; The mean, rude comments are very few, and very rare. I think, thanks to that, I have the confidence I needed to possibly write some of the ideas that I've suppressed into the back of my mind. So, I've got to thank you for saying that.Ā
Now, getting back on topic, it is frustrating seeing people using this as a method to rant about politics. I hate politics. When I'm here I don't want to hear the crap I can hear on the PBS World News. I just want to enjoy perusing the art and galleries of all these fetish artists.
