I think one of the main reasons people say your work looks like lupis aside from the obvious inspiration is jsuwt that lupis had become very popular and know for feral furries with long, slim bodies, and smooth, thin legs with softly round paws and the way she cartoonists snouts and such. She became well known for doing those features so alot of people basically just associated those details combined as being hers.
Keep doing you! You'll get to where you want to be soon enough on your own time, pace yourself c:

Technically there is no such thing as a completely original style, We all take inspiration from tons of other artists and learn how to draw certain things by viewing their stuff! Like eyes for example or how to do feet, how to shade, how to shape anatomy or exxagerate it, etc.
What you can do is get multiple artists who inspire you and always keep looking at new artwork! If you find new artists you like study their artwork, why do you like their art? Is it the colors? The stiffness or smoothness of lines? The way they do hair or fur? The way they shade? Etc. The little details and try implementing them into your style, Like for example if you see an artist and you realize hey! You love how they do vibrant colors for all their works or more natural tones, use that! Implement it into your style.
Frankly we all get our styles by learning from others, whether we decide to keep it or change it as time goes on is up to us of course, Don't let it discourage you!

I will admit it does still look similar to Lup's style but don't worry! It takes a bit of time to work out of something like this (I know it all too well oTL)
My advice, don't be afraid to play around with different elements! Exaggerate things, try out different ways to draw various parts of the body, heck even draw inspiration from various artists that draw certain things which catch your attention! There's a lot you can do but also have fun with it while you're testing out a new style. That is the most important thing I can recommend too because there was a period of time where I got stuck in a style I didn't like. I don't want you to accidentally fall into that pit either lol
But yeah! There's a lot you can do so just, play around with it. Sketch things in different ways and if you find an element of something you like from that but not pleased with the outcome, then take that element and try it with another. It's a process but at the end of it you'll find something you'll be happy with I'm sure!

remember kids, rye whiskey had the original "lupis style" ;w;
but in all honesty, i like your style as your style. it's supposed to be cartoony so it makes sense to have slim bodies and simple round features such as in old cartoons where the characters were just rounded shapes with some fur at the curves (like bugs bunny and the signature rounded mouth and high cheek bones which is also present in disney animations, but the only ones, not the 3d model ones)

Yeah I can definitely see you take a lot of inspiration from her. And I mean, I don’t think Lupis minds others heavily referencing her stuff (from what I’ve seen) and you can draw however makes you happy.
but if it bothers you getting compared a lot, which is understandable, the best way to fix that is to look for more than one artist to look up to, a variety of artists with very different styles you like (that don’t look like Lupis) and also making your own realism studies from pictures (because realism is still important to know even if you do cartoons) to discover new things to implement in your style.

well
your older stuff looks like her older style and your newer stuff looks like her newer style but--
to be completely honest (and probably a lil disrespectful but eh) i feel like you pull off the style much much better and i find it pleasing to look at, i rather like it
but if you want to be original and you want people to stop comparing the two of you, then maybe take inspo from a variety of sources?
