Description
These are the 'Toons you want to follow into I'm Jefimus and this is my top 10 favorite Animated Leaders a sequel to my top 10 Live Action Leaders.10. Duke (G.I.Joe Franchise) voiced by Michael Bell, Greg Abby Steve Blum, and Jason Marsden and not Channing Tatum. While we all monitored the constant power struggle atop the Cobra hierarchy, the leadership of G.I. Joe was one of the most contentious of any 80s cartoon team. Duke was the clear leader in the first season, only to be replaced by General Hawk as time wore on. By the time Sgt. Slaughter arrived on the scene, it seemed as if he led every mission and all Joes answered to him. Regardless, Duke lives on as the true leader of the Joes in every incarnation since the 80s.
9. Col. Roy Mustang (Fullmetal Alchemist/Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood) Played by Travis Willingham) The Only Anime character I could put on my list. Roy Mustang is a colonel in the Amestrean military. The flame alchemist is loved and respected by all his soldiers. He leads with a burning passion and ambition for success while never forgetting the importance of his men. He values his allies more then anything and strives to create a world where everyone can protect their loved ones. His tremendous firepower and unyielding leadership make him one of the most fearsome men to ever step foot on a battlefield.
8. Iron Man (The Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes) (Played by Eric Looms) While Captain America is considered the leader of the Avengers, But arguably the best animated depiction of the Avengers ol shell head leads the team. At first Stark felt he alone can protect the world from superhuman threats But as these global threats escalate beyond even Iron Man's capacity, he must assemble the greatest Super Hero team in history… THE AVENGERS!
7. Goliath (Gargoyles) Voiced by Keith David 1000 years ago a clan of Gargoyles defended a castle in Scotland that was occuped by the humans who shunned them for their monstrous appearances, butone gargoyle was tasked with leading them into ballte Goliath. After reemerging from a 1000 year old curse one he leads his five gargoyle companions in their mutual attempt to adapt to, survive in and protect the often-hostile environment of 1994 Manhattan, which he has grown a custom to. While he looks like a brutal monster Goliath is very wise and clever. But all else fails beware this is one mythical creature you do NOT want to be on the bad of.
6. Woody (Toy Story franchise) Voiced by Tom Hanks the only leader that's not a military leader or warrior he's a rare cowboy doll.
5. Lion-O (Thundercats) voiced by Larry Kenney/Will Friedle Lion-O is one of the few heroes that has transcended the 80s. With a much higher rate of name recognition among non-18-49 year old males than most of the characters on this list, Lion-O and his fellow Thundercats protected Thundera from the ancient spirits of evil harnessed by Mumm-Ra. Unlike Duke and two others I will mention Lion-O is more of a hero in training, after all he was a kid stuck in the body of an adult or man child, or a teenager who was nothing more then a stubborn pampered prince who had no choice but to step up because he's the only one who can wield the mystic sword of omens depending if your too young to remember the original ThunderCats cartoon. But time on Third Earth forced to mature on the battlefield good thing Lion-O is a quick learner. Equipped with a catchy theme song and an iconic battle cry, Lion-O and his friends defend Third Earth from Mumm-Ra and his Mutant army.
4. He-Man Masters of the Universe) voiced by John Erwin/Cam Clarke He is a Prince of Eternia and Defender of the secrets of Castle Grayskull. Fabulous secret powers were revealed to Prince Adam the day he held aloft the power and pretty much turns into a combination of Conan the barbarian and Prince Valiant. He-Man leads the heroic Masters of the Universe in his quest to battle the evil of Skeletor and his goons, Though he prefers to outsmarts his enemies he wades fists flying and power sword swing Regardless of what he did in his personal time, He-Man learns that a true hero walks humble does justice and love kindness He's was a morally solid leader and a good role model for children of the 80's or and for awhile the 2000's
3. Leonardo (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles) voiced by Cam Clarke/Mike Sinnternaklas/Jason Biggs/Seth Green struggled mightily with this one. Has Leo ever officially been deemed the leader of the TMNT, because he's a teacher's pet and considered The best student of Master Splinter. Smart Strategic and a dedicated follower of the samurai code of bushido (how weird since he is a ninja and not a samurai)
2. Superman (Justice League/ Justice League Unlimited) voiced by George Newbern Living up to being the legendary Superman would be a burden for most men, but Clark Kent's shoulders are more than broad enough to carry the load. While his incredible physical strength comes from his home planet of Krypton, his moral strength comes from his simple Kansas upbringing. The natural leader of the Justice League, Superman leads by example and steadies this volatile group. With so many super-egos involved, there are often major clashes in style. And when clashes inevitably occur, he is often the peacemaker.
1. Optimus Prime/Primal (Transformers g1/Beast Wars/Armada/Cybertron/Prime ) voiced by Peter Cullen/Gary Chalk The Autobots waged their battle to destroy the evil forces of the Decepticons, and we all know who led them into that battle week in and week out. This truck looking bot originally brought to life by the iconic voice of Peter Cullen, is a leader who fights for righteousness every step of the way. Once an energon dock worker or data clerk named Orion Pax, he once idolized The decpeticon leader Megatron until he found out that Megs was pure robotic evil. Now entrusted with the heavy burden hardest to bear he leads the Autobots to defeat Megatron and his malicious Decpticons. Optimus would sacrifice himself before sacrificing others, has been brought back to life after death, and was granted a descend named Optimus Primal who is just as courageous and heroic except he transforms into a monkey.
Honorable Mentions
Dutch (Black Lagoon)
J.T. Marsh (Exo Squad)

A fine list. The only objection I have is possibly Iron Man, but that's because of what he did in the comics- mistakes he made during Marvel Comics' "Civil War," which I hope the cartoon's writers were smart enough to avoid repeating.
