This would be great on its own (the uniforms, the tech, the snow/landscape) but the way you've doctored it to look antique is tremendously cool. I love it.

The subdural cortex engine (which was fractured by over heating and the sudden down shock of the harsh sub-zero temperatures) still held clues and chemical memories as to the nature of itβs malfunction and subsequent mechanical berserker rage that had leveled the research facility and the surrounding electrical support network before being destroyed by a thinking bomb that had been launched from the trenches ten miles away.

Excellent - the lead trooper's walking mechanism is superb. Plus, Russian Steampunk is a perfect and unfortunately underused subgenre, imo. Now tell me, was this rogue robot built by the enemy or by the Red Army themselves?
