The landscape here is based on a photo I took in Egypt (eastern part) back in 2001. The figure in the black armour is based on a gilt, naked statue of the Roman Emperor Domitian as Hercules. I still retained the club that is held by the figure. To either side of him are Roman Praetorian guards. On the left is the figure of the Roman Emperor Augustus, based on the famous Prima Porta statue. In the centre is my take on Julius Caesar, this figure and horse based on the famous equestrian statue of the Roman Emperor Marcus Aurelius.
