Description
Yes. All of yes.So you can see from this art that the bill of Dirton's hat is angular, something I don't think was quite captured in the sprite. I'm kind of annoyed because the sketch is gorgeous and this is less gorgeous.
Dirteon I have evidence of since ah, about 3rd grade. Like, seven years ago. At least as far as the Dachshund ground eeveelution thing goes. Yes. The construction thing is a new addition that I like very much. As it is so old, you'll be pleased to know that I have a good amount of flavor text on it. Plus some new stuff thanks to the construction implement!
Dirteon are, as their appearance and classification should suggest, most famous for their digging prowess. Capable of subsiding a skyscraper six feet in an hour without causing damage to the structure or itself, they are commonplace in urban areas for this talent. It of course is much less used for sinking towers than it is for burying, repairing, and digging up water mains, electric lines, and sewage pipes, though. Because of their naturally coarse fur, thick bones, and protective headgear, they are capable of working in almost any condition. Although they naturally had a hardhat-like skull covering in older times, the bright colors and reflective stripes on their backs were actually achieved through a complex mix of selective breeding and engineering. This was very difficult to do as it was impossible to tell what an individual Eevee would look like when evolved, and though a lot of protest was raised over the issue (many took to speaking on behalf of an Eevee's will to choose evolving), the alteration still stands as the crowning achievement of genetic engineering. One thing that was not bred out of Dirteon, however, was the (in)famous puddle. This coating of mud is a substance that Dirteon secretes from glands in its paws. Naturally, when kept as a house pet this can be a huge problem. Fortunately, there is a surgery that can be administered to remove these glands, though depending on a Dirteon's preference of how to use ground-type moves, their attacks may suffer a power loss. The mud is thought to actually be used as a sanitary buffer between Dirteon and it's environment as it is naturally sterile and anti-bacterial, though in today's world most everything is clean enough that this property is of little use. And incidentally why people want the glands removed in the first place. Of course, this also gave way to the huge mud bath industry in Cajiro. People pay a very dear price to have a Dirteon-mud bath, almost to the point that it has become a hilariously upscale black market.

Ah, it's even more awesome with a bigger picture~
Hafta say I also love the bit about the modifications. People experimenting with how far they can push eevee's evolutions (and any subsequent controversy, etc.) has always been an interesting concept, imo.

LOL I can attest. 96 by 96 pixels isn't a lot of room for detail.
I like to keep it remotely realistic, I think that adds to the charm and I myself think a story is pretty interesting as well. ^^

It looks fantastic and is really cute. I love the hat and the vest. Is the title by any chance a reference to ed from ed, edd n' eddy when he used to say that?

Ha! It's cute. I like the hat and vest look. Other than that it reminds me of my ground dog fakemon Pupirty.

Thank you! And I can see the similarity. Though I might mention you have a name discrepancy between it in the dex and description below it. XD

You're welcome! ^_^ And yeah, that big dex was the beta version. The description has the correct name. Plus, they're out of order in that one but I'm slowly uploading them in the proper order.

Ah, I see. I recently overhauled my own dex as well... good God. What an adventure. But hey, at least I got a nice, organized spreadsheet out of it, right? XD

I'll have to come up with some way to organize the final product of my dex. I might even make it a flash "game" to show off all the data.
