Black's brother left on an adventure when he was five and Black only rarely saw him since; the occasional flight home was never enough to satisfy the emotional need Black had for his brother.

Looking back, I could sympathize with him on that when he approached me about going on an adventure of his own. "I don't want you to leave me..." Was the thought running through my head, though I wonder now if I may have said it aloud.

Black looked at her in a mix of pity and surprise before switching to a warm one. He wiped the tear on her cheek away (he'd never seen her do so much crying as long as he'd known her as she'd done in the past month), hugged her gently, and kissed her on the nose before replying, "That's why you're coming with me."

I...um... I can explain?

Well, I guess it stems back to the fact that I absolutely LOVE chessshipping and agencyshipping. (I'll bet my entire savings that agencyshipping becomes canon. Aiee I can't wait). In an effort to give myself fuzzies, I've taken it upon myself to make 50 little drabble thingies. (For Chess, mind you; I'll let Agency run its course a little further.)

These drabbles are set in something of an alternate universe, one that's a little less pokemon-centric. They're a lot closer to real life and follow Hilda and Hilbert (who refuse to go by such awful names and instead White and Black. Funny, because I made that up before we knew official names), two kids in their junior year of high school. Black has a pretty normal family, but White's father is an abusive alcoholic. This becomes a problem exacerbated by the fact that White's mother is in a car accident and paralyzed from the waist down. Black knows about this, since they've been best friends since he moved to the suburbs when they were eight. Black feels it's his job to protect his friend (and love interest since he was 13). After all, White trusted him enough to reveal some very personal secrets to him. Anyhow, he has a stroke of good luck when he notices that it's the time of year when sign-ups for adventures are and decides to take the liberty of getting White away from her father. They travel Unova, struggle to quell the battle between Reshiram and Zekrom, and of course get stuck in a few... awkward situations. Meanwhile, the pokemon back in their neighborhood decide to take a stand for the girl they feel has suffered too much.
