For supanova 2012 i decided to do my childhood hero :3 Winx club is one of my favourite shows. This took ages to make espcially the wings it took me about 6 times making one wing to get the right shape. The detail was then stiched on, it took forever D; but thankfully i worked on it every day so i got it done in the end :3 My friend went as Tecnaphoto by

I love velcro <3 I have to make some butterfly wings for a costume and I'm having trouble attaching them to my back because they're meant to come out of bear skin.

My wings i made out of wire with binding wrapped around it and then 2 layers of fabric. I then cut out the shapes and used binding on the edges. For the designs i used red binding and sewed through the middle. The long blue strips i used wire with binding over the top with little gems glues on top. The edges were done with felt and fabric...wow thats prob confusing but if you have any trouble understand just let me no and i'll try and explain it better

it doesnt have to be too thick just not to thin either. Just enough to be able to stand and bend
