I found a better scanner.
So I reuploaded a better version...

Updates: Just a quick Kanji explanation. The first one on the top is supposed to mean dragon. The next three when put in the same sentance or together mean protector. I am also told the the third kanji down also means dragon. In this picture the kanji took the longest to do. I'm proud of them. If my translation is wrong do tell me, I would love to know what I wrote on my picture if my translation is wrong. ^_^
Updates: Yay! I got my scanner to work! And here it is scanned not taken by a camera! ^_^
I don't have a scanner in my room but I had my crappy digital camera! When I have time I'll scan this and put in a better version of this. I starting a Dragon Guardian Series.

Your coloring is a nice, as is the Kanji, and the weight and wrinkling and shadowing of the clothes are pretty but you should consider sketching as much anatomy as you can. Your proportions ar fine but the shoulders should be broader, and the edges of the hips should align with the shoulders. Her arms are too thin, no matter how slender she is (I should know, me and my sisters and mom and aunt are pretty scrawny ;_

I noticed. After I draw all 20 of the Dragon's Gaurdians I'm making a series 2 of them in poses and stuff. It will look better there...hopefully. Thank you for the advice! ^.^

awsome. i toke art this year for nine week then i had to go to first aid and now im in spanish. AAAHH! i wish they let me stay in art. but its the school thing but next year i can take art all year next year!i think im going in advanced art but i have to take a test for it.its good that you draw from your thoughts.

I love the dragon the most in this, so pwetty and colourful. I also like the tree with the vine, it's a nice addition to the composition. The girl and the kanjis could do with a bit more work though.
Firstly the girl, she is anatomically correct so there's no problem there. However, she seems to lack the spark that really make her a dragon's protector. Really, she's just standing there. Take her out of the picture and she could be just any other random chick. Also, the weapon and arm ratio just isn't right. You're portraying a petite young girl with superstrenght, which is fine, but to get realism across she still needs to hold it like the thing is heavy. Like use both hands. Or have the weapon leveled out horisontally so the weight is even. The handle itself needs to be extended smidgen so at least two fist-length can fit. Her costume is great tho!
Now onto the kanji... before you start, you want to mark out even-sized squares to say each one is going to be this size and it will fit within this. Practice a few times to see that the kanji with small amount of strokes turns out nearly the same size as ones that have more strokes. It's great you put the effort into looking them up, but it's all about the presentation. I want to let you know tho that the 4th chara is perfect!
You've got a great concept to work with, and I like how you're making it a seriese, I look forward to see what's next in line
