This was my work for a turtle zine that unfortunately got cancelled. I've been sitting on it since November waiting to see if the mods would get the zine published, as all the contributors had done their part, but sadly the project was never completed (of course life can get in the way and unexpected things happen, so there is no point blaming the mods, but the lack of communication with the contributors was bad to say the least...). It was a nice idea for a charity zine and I hope the mods learn from their failures and have better luck in their projects in the future!
About the image: These are Yellow-spotted Amazon River Turtles (Podocnemis unifilis), accompanied by Blue-banded Morpho (Morpho Achilles), Julia Butterfly (Dryas Iulia), Malachite (Siproeta Stelenes), and Cramer's Eighty-eight (Diaethria Clymena) butterflies. ^^
Butterflies are often seen on and around turtles because they drink turtle tears as a source of minerals.
