Even though Mephiles' crystalline form was a pain to sketch, the time I took was much shorter than what I had expected
I think I'm getting better at hands...I think 
and I'm quite pleased with how Mephiles' eye shape came out I'm so glad that this isn't a full-colour commission - the details would kill me

For a sketch, you really did great. And you know what? I love this cute idea. For a commision, this was really cute. I love the way you drew Mephiles, I know I can never get his crystal form right. I guess it's just a big pain the butt for me. Hope you don't mind me, but I'm faving this.

Quite a lot... I'm sorry to say. This is not your finest work. Maybe I am just a detailist about chao, but Mephilis is not perfect either.

Of course it isn't, did you read the description that this is a SKETCH commission?
I can understand your disappointment regarding the chao, but Mephiles was a killer (no joke intended to Sonic 06). I try really hard. Really really very hard. To make Mephiles as accurate as possible for my sketching standards. If I was commissioned to do this in full-colour, I would fix up his hands.
I'm already trying to let go of my perfectionist attitude which makes me spend like 3 days on just a single character), which means I'm trying to cut short my time on drawing (school break is over, and I don't have much time to draw these days.)

Yes, I am aware that this is a sketch. But I just expect more from you. Because you are a really good artist. But this, drawing has many more errors then anything else I've ever seen you draw. I'm Sorry I'm a perfectionist. I can normally overlook a few errors not only because you you have beautiful colors and shading and lines, but also because the errors are small things like five centimeters or less. But Memphiles's head is off by about ten. And he has four tripled eyebrows, instead of two doubled. And many other slights. I love your art, just not this one. I am sorry that this sketch does not please me.

Well then, I draw to express myself. The only people I draw to please are the commissioners who commission me to draw specific things.
Am I a robot who produces accurate, close-to-official work? Just cause I draw near-perfect anatomy doesn't mean I'll get it right everytime.
Just look at all those artists here. There are many who can't even get basic anatomy right. And yet, they are pleased with their work. Why? Because they have done their best.

I admit that there are plenty of really inaccurate artists, being their very best. And even thought this is not "perfect" in my eyes. It is still many times better then those guys.
Take this drawing as proof that when I say, "Wow Jemi, you did a great job!" I mean it. I like you to much to lie to you about my opinions.

XD I understand completely. I would only care if the person I was trying to please disliked my art. Every other person that likes it is an added bonus. Like the Jackwind the Bluejay, what if you hated it? I would feel terrible for like 5 minutes. But if anyone else doesn't like it, that's their problem!

look at it compared to his hands and the chao.
His arm is also slightly short but not by enough to make a big deal about.
Now Jemi, DaGamartist is a perfect point of not looking like the official artwork. no one can say he (she... sorry. My mistake) is wrong. Because she is not striving for perfection and is doing her own thing. I like your art more than I like her's (no direct offence to you) But I also can't say she is wrong.
I really need to stop talking about this. I am beginning to sound like a certain wisp. Trying to fix the problems that people don't really need to fix. Sorry. Forgive me.

1. I do look at official artwork and add my own little twist to it. I can try my hardest to draw Sonic characters close to official but that would take practice, so I just add my own little twist on it. AKA a human neck.
