Description
This one's for - who suggested that I look into doing some portrait-style lighting and framing for Alice, here. I'm not sure why the background image on this didn't transfer through. It's supposed to be a really nice watercolor style image, but it is not here now. I will perhaps do another of these and see if it comes through.Once again, the focus here is light and shadow practice for me. And, once again, rendered in 3Delight on DS 4.5.
No prints this time. The DA print pricing policy is just nuts. If you want a high-res version of this, ask me and we can work something out.

But..but..how?! It's crazy to see the improvement as I look through your gallery. How you're managing to make such a pale-skinned subject look so 3D baffles me. o_o

It's easier than you think. I'm using a program called Daz3D, which I got from www.daz3d.com. I use the content they provide free with the program, as well as other content that I've purchased through their site for the program.
Alice's skin is a hi-resolution texture, so when rendered with the level of detail that I did, here, it comes out with that look.
The rest is trial-and-error with camera settings, like focal length, depth-of-field, and the like.
Practice, practice, practice!

Also, did you click it all the way to max resolution?

I need to improve my own modeling and texturing skills. The skin/makeup textures are provided/purchased options, and thus aren't exactly what I'd like to have. I've learned a bit on how to use the editor, but editing something someone else made isn't what I'd like to ultimately do, you know?
Compare this to some of the other pieces I've done, and see what sort of a difference good lighting makes, though, right?
And thank you. You know that compliments from you make me really happy. <4
