There are iffy places in both Poetic and Prose Eddas that was Hel Loki's daughter; but also that she was appointed by Odin (Prose Edda book Gylfaginning ), to take care of a place that had"many mansions". Either way the picture itself is "helarious" as She would have been born almost as soon as Loki came into existence (considering that Death/Hel/need for a Nether Deity) would have been needed as soon as possible considering that the giant Ymir was killed by Odin and his brothers. or by his father's father.
Unlike the Greco/Romans, the Norse are harder to refine. I rather think of Hel as a Life/Death Deity rather than a child of Loki; but they're your delicious drawings, Darlings! I still think the best ones are the ones with little Sleipner. Trying to be a foal and learn to walk let alone run on all those legs.......soooo cute!!!

Woah jeez... but I've read the original in Norse mythology and I'm pretty sure, after tearing away all of the 'thee's and 'thou's that that's figurative and it was a description of Loki himself... as a student of Norse Myth I think so but it's hard to tell what's figurative or not most of the time.
