Well, of course he's not Green- he made it to the League, didn't he? Oh, wait, you aren't being literal. It all depends on which canon you follow, Japanese (Where Red & Green were the paired versions, and gives away the Green Badge in Gen II,) or American (Where the games were Red & Blue. And FireRed and LeafGreen. Where his default name is Green.)

It's a great piece! But I should point out that Red's first Pokemon in the comics was in fact Poliwhirl (at least shown in the comics), not Pikachu.

1St Generation: Classic
2nd Generation: Amazing
3rd Generation: Decent
4th Generation: Meh
5th Generation: Hahaha. No

IMO:
1st and 2nd Gen: Agreed
3rd Gen: Not terrible, but it gave us FRLG and Colosseum, so it's good in my book.
4th Gen: Better than 3, comes in just behind 1. Except HGSS, which I thought were better than Gen I, but not as good as Gen 2.
5th Gen- Leaning towards good. I haven't played the games yet (the only way to know if the gen is good or not,) but I like most of the new PokΓ©mon designs, the anime has pretty much gone back to basics, and the TCG has only been this easy to pick up since pre-Neo Genesis.
Just out of curiosity, when was the last time you played a PokΓ©mon game?

Playing HeartGold as we speak, me and my friends we play against each other (not to the extent pro competitive players but competitive enough amongst ourselves)
5 Gen has a lot of good new features like 2v2 grass patches and re-useable TM's. But the story aspect to gen 5 is overkill, the antagonist says the same thing over and over again. you end up mashing the A button for a good 2-3min just to read the same thing you've been reading since the first town.
IMO for both 4 & 5 and a little bit of gen 3 I'm not really a fond of the introduced Pokemon. At this point i am hoping for a Pokemon reboot, that or a PassionRuby/SorrowSaphire.
