Description
I'm currently taking advanced sculpture w/ John Brown at Gnomon and our first project is to create a dynamic head with very sharp and defined features so that we learn more about the planes of the face and how to create good old fashioned depth. This is my unrefined but essentially finished head maquette.

What I love the most about this piece are the chiselled planes, and how they produce hard light contrasts; and the anatomic peculiarities you chose to use, as they make the head believable and distinguishable (as a face) at the same time.

Thank you very much Kamillie. Your words are too kind. Alot of the stylistic guidance for how this head was supposed to look came directly from my teacher John Brown since it was meant to be a way for us to essentially create our own 'lanes of the face' guide. That said, thank you for the compliments!!!
