What can I say? I saw the preview for the next Steven Universe episode and was inspired to draw something based on it. It's so good to finally see Lapis being happy :')This was my first ever attempt at using watercolours! It was a bit daunting at first, but I ended up really enjoying using them.

And yeah, it's been a long time coming. Poor Lapis, she really didn't deserve all of the horrible things that she had to go through. I'm so glad to see that she's finally found some happiness

Well technically we don't really know a thing about her. She could have caused great destruction or other horrible acts in the past, but it could be the other way around. We still don't know a thing about her, she's a mystery ..... and that's why we love her so much!
And soon we'll be getting answers in the next episode!

Yep, you're totally right
I like the fact that she's so mysterious, as well. She's kinda been painted to be a bit of a victim in the show so far, hasn't she (with her horrendous luck - we've literally never seen her truly happy, she's always going through something horrible). I honestly feel really sorry for her. Her anger upon being freed from the mirror is, in my opinion, totally justified; and her kindness towards Steven also makes me think "she's not a bad Gem". But who knows, maybe she's not always been that kind. I mean, let's be honest, the whole Malachite situation was questionable on her part just as much as Jasper's, for instance - they both formed that fusion out of hatred (even though you could argue that Lapis was left with little choice in the matter), which is literally as far away from being kind as you can get!
I can't wait to get some answers
