uh this may sound kinda stupid but what do you mean by moving your layer to a transparent one?

It's very similar to the way that I create my characters, except you start digitally and I start using pencil and paper. I should start feeling my way into drawing with my tablet instead of just painting; it may help my final pieces become a bit more fluid. Beautiful work on this illustration.

hey, cool little tut here the shape of pose and colours are really nice, and the clothing looks nice as well. few proportional errors, but none that really affect the flow or composition. overall, good piece

This was informative, indeed. Two questions: Is the trace function you mentioned a plug-in for Photoshop or is it there?; Do you use it with the transparent background only? Thanks bunches.

oh nono when i meant by tracing some artists will draw a sketch in a light color then use a transparent layer and go over their lines in black.

everytime i use myt tablet to draw on photoshop my line becomes all crooked even though its supposed to be straight, how do you make such fine lines?
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
JENJYart In reply to Kukira [2006-01-15 16:11:37 +0000 UTC]
when i draw i do fast strokes varying the pressure. i know that trying to do a nice straight line slowly it looks weird. also i use the eraser too also. if im having a problem gettin a line right.. i make a bold line and use the eraser to thin it out the way i want it. i dunno if that made any sense im not good at explaining how i draw lol.

I try doing it fast, but it still looks odd, i guess i just need some more experience, do you mind me giving you a note if i ever have any questions? o_o;;

ooh yeah, thanks, this is great
though i simple cannot understand how you can draw so flawless with a tablet, i just can't draw my normal style on that thing as i do on paper
i guess you just got used to it?

aah i see, yeah, i thought so
i think its so cool how you colour, its so soft, yet there's a lot of contrast,
i tried to colour something the same way, but it didn't work.. , i tried a face, in photoshop, ah well, its just a lot of exploring i guess

i use painter to color.. the blender tool is so much better than the smudge in photoshop

so overall, about 2 hours of work goes into food girl? I"m glad i've seen the workings of your style. Makes me feel a little bit better. thats not saying bad things about ya and your draws. I can't do what you do, but I know its not impossible to do what you do. You should do another sometime!

Its really nice and simple but you can still see the steps. I love this character and your style. Your line art is amazing. (something I can never get right) And this softer style of coloring I've seen around a bit more is really apealing. Nice tutorial.
