I'm happy with this painting, though I need to get a better photo of it. The requirement was a hand and foot study, and I'm happy that I made my demented toes look like...toes. I just wanted to convey the feeling of emptiness and loneliness everyone feels at some point during their life. Yes, I used myself as a model, though I wasn't trying to make it look just like me.Oil paint

The hands and feet are amazing, I love the way you captured her angst in just the way she is gripping her teddy and the curling of the toes, the emotion is so there and I feel it!

I love the amount of emotion this conveys, but the first finger against the left arm... it seems the lower section is way longer than the ones of the other fingers. I bet you knew that though, and it really doesn't distract me from a great emotive pic.

Actually, I hadn't noticed the length of the finger specifically before, but I did notice that it looked odd...now I know why! I guess I didn't think much of it because I have freakishly long fingers. Anyways, thanks for the helpful critique, and I'm glad you liked the piece.

The photo seems okayish - the borders reveal that you have lost a lot of brightness and contrast in the transfer to digital, yet the piece itself looks colourful and crisp.
Your style is good, the piece looks very fluid and full bodied (i.e. not flat), the model is full of emotion, and the teddy is so cute. I like it!

I'm glad you like it! Yeah, the photo isn't the best in the world...I took it when it was hanging in an art show, and (ironically) the gallery didn't have great lighting. Once it's out of the show I'll take a better one, but until then... But anyway, thanks, hehe.
