First, as traditional artist I cannot give you proper indepth critique to your technique, I apologize in advance for that...

What I want to point out is the originality of the motive, the allegory of peace you created here. I think I never came across a picture that could catch the fickle, brittle concept of peace in such a great way - I can only interprete it as the fires of conflict eating at peace itself, while the white birds of hope may carry further wax (peacefullness, good will, hope) to the candle to replenish its base.
You created such a powerfull metaphor, that it might be even undestandable without the "Peace" written under it. Amazing!

Of course, my interpretation could be wrong, I apologize if so e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/s… " width="15" height="15" alt="" data-embed-type="emoticon" data-embed-id="391" title=" (Smile)"/>

I thought about this because I am going away for 5 days and I wanted to leave a reminder that we are "all" in this together.  It is also a very cold Winter and I wonder how we can all keep working at 'peace' while the ice/sea erodes our earth. Sun in the deserts and no water.

Most of the time I don't make my images for 'free' download unless I think people can use them in a constructive way. This one is......I hope.

I truly appreciate this critique

Can those of you have not realised the ramifications of an endangered planet please look at what you see? You don't have to go on the 'internet' to see what is before our eyes.

Thank you.

Jenny

In that light, just think of all the other white birds like you - we´ll have your back until you return

Another thought I had, but forgot in my critique, is that one could interprete the ice in your picture as positive motive. Global warming, which is fostered by cars as well as wars, destroys the biggest iceshelves, which will lead to more wars, be it about water or land. The peace candle made from icy wax, melting through human aggression could be seen as metaphor for the polar caps perhaps.

Hope you´ll have awesome holidays!

Myself.......................I am swamped with the stupidity of human beings.

Completetely unable to FEEL anything because it is all killing me.

I grew up in a Country with Leopards/Elephants roaming wild. After the explosion of more and more people/garbage etc in the Rivers etc. I watch as elephants are electrocuted/leopards die out.  For me at age nearly 70yrs I CARE about young people seeing our planet as I did.

Men make weapons/men make war.............I am a woman who gave birth to 3 kids and I would NOT have allowed one of them to fight.

Cannot really 'live' while this goes on..............NO holidays for me.

I wish for you and

I can´t barely grasp the thought of how much destruction you mut have whitnessed in your life... I´m barely approaching my 30´s but I hear of new ded out species almost every month since I can remember. One checks Wikipedia and reads "exstinct 1998" and something inside goes exstinct as well.

Most horrible for me personally is that the USA and Europe as richest areas of our planet do not intervene. There are "plans" and "contracts" but each one seems just like an absolution bill to continue grafting the world of its beauty for another 5 years.

From the northern hemisphere we watch wars growing, war for water and war for fossile ressources, while we could actually help to stop those conflicts if our states had the courage to revolutionize the global economics.

It is almost painfull to think of having a family..thinking of my possible child in 5-10 years, telling my future son that I never saw a whale even though I live on the shore and hat he´ll never see a whale because we made them vanish... It´s hard to believe in a better future right now.

I hope we´ll find our hope once again, just to feel how it is to be alive

Very clever of you to understand this....................we could STOP this now if the people who make money out of destruction (the arms/drug industry).  We are little people who don't matter BUT when the rich have everything and the planet dies.......what then?

I agree with you as far as having children............what are we leaving for them? I feel so sad that there seems to be NO thought process behind everything we do. We continue to talk obout garbage: cleaning up our oceans/stop building on wild area/stop using pesticides etc. The people like you and me do take this to heart and do what we can BUT we live in a world ruled by money.

I wish I could say something inspiring to you but I have NO words left.  I too have grandkids ranging from 9yrs to 22yrs and my heart is very sad.
