First image for 2020 is a very complex scene with a very complex character.
World Gardens Japan is an extraordinary environment by Howie Farkes, but due to the thousands and thousands of plants it is not easy to handle and to even preview. To get a good lighting is very difficult and time consuming. In addition the G8M character contains custom morphs to shape the upper body and has new special skin settings that needed hours and hours of test renders.
After I tried out the DAZ "dForce" G8 kimono (without success, it really looked so awful and couldn't stand against the environment), I decided to create my own kimono in Marvelous Designer, to be able to open and close it. Also the textures and shaders for it were a challenge.
Final arrangement, camera positioning and image composition resulted in a scene that needed again hours for rendering in DAZ Studio and postwork in Photoshop.
First version I can finally present now, my Patrons at Patreon will get the 4K resolution image and a second rendering. I plan a few more scenes with an opened kimono on different spots of the garden of course.

Thank you Isidorn, too bad that the DAZ kimono couldn't stand against this wonderful environment, but cloth created in Marvelous Designer is not like cloth in DAZ Studio. I see no way of selling it.

Thank you for your kind words. And indeed no, I can't sell the kimono, I don't have the knowledge to turn it into DAZ clothes and tbh. I don't think this is even possible.

Sickleyield has a couple of Youtube tutorials about making clothes for Studio in Marvelous Designer. It does sound like a lot of work, though. Anyway, it is a really lovely image.

I know, and I also know the amount of work. Imagine that the cloth would have to fit every DAZ G8M character, from Michael over Yuzuru to The Brute and for every character you would have to make and to bake adjustment morphs into the cloth AFTER you make all the rigging and JCMs and what's not, that are necessary to work at all as DAZ clothes. And in the end people still would for sure find something to complain about. In addition, as opposite as it maybe sounds in the DAZ forums - fact is, male clothes sell half as good (if then at all) as female clothes, so why should I risk to have a lot of work for weeks and probably months even and no guarantee of an income. I made another try with the release of a G8M character, but the disappointment was bitter again, when I see that a generic Emrys male character sells 1000 copies a day for 6.99 or however low the price was due to be a DAZ Original - and I made not even 100 sales in a week. I'm not a company with lots of people working for me like Zeddicuss or Emrys.

Oh, he did well, well enough for me to get over the next two months, yay! But I hope you understand, I'm not selling stuff (at DAZ) just for fun, work and pay need to be in balance when you live from it.
