I rescued one of these noisy squarking little buggers last week. Had it for several days, got rid of all the lice it had and how did it thank me? Turned its' toes up after five days of loving care! (I think the night was too cold for it - we had a cold snap).
Very pretty bird, but extremely noisy and terribly messy.

Makes me miss the Lorikeet I used to have as a pet...he got drunk on the nectar of the flowers he was feeding on and fell out of a tree and broke his wing - strange way to gain a pet but we were all the better for it

Teheh, yeah, except the bit where my red-heeler thought that he'd make a good meal after he hit the ground!! Rescuing a distraught and scared bird that has a strong beak and knows how to use it is hilarious
He actually chewed a hole in his cage so that he could come in and out of it as he pleased...of a morning he'd crawl out of his cage, hop to the back door and knock on it repeatedly with his beak until we came to pick him up and take him to the flower trees in the front yard. When he'd had his fill, he'd then hop all the way back up to the front veranda, hop up the stairs [which were quite huge in comparison to him!], around the side and to the front door, and knock again at which point we'd take him back to his cage. He was amazing!!! Best bird in the world

Nice shot mate! Although.. how much did ya crop? Only reason of me asking is.. I reckon u could crop it a bit tighter.. the branches on the right hand-side are a little distracting in my opinion. Anyways, awesome always, very vibrant colours and is so sharp!!

I cropped a bit from the right and the bottom, he was pretty much centre top of frame.. but the reason I didn't crop more was I kind've like the thirdness of it.. but hey I see where ur comin from

I don't think I've really ever seen one in Canberra? (where I am)only ever on the coast..
around my joint it is mostly cockatoos, magpies, crows, and the odd miner and wren..
there is plenty of others around, but you're less likely to see them
