Description
Junkers Ju-288: German strategic bomber, introduced to the service in 1964, were part of German "Atom combination", together with submarine, and land based missiles. But was in German AF not only used as pure nuclear strike plane: could also be used in reconnaissance missions, as long range "Wild Weasel", or conventional bomber, like in '68 "Victoria Lake War" by Tanganyika AF.Planned long range interceptor loose with SAM systems, and didn't enter into production,, because potentially nuclear bombers from Soviet Union, or in much less the possibility, from GB or France will drop their bombs or fire rockets before big interceptor can start, and relatively small territory of Germany can be protected by patrolling smaller and cheaper tactical fighters, and SAMs,some of which placed in East Prussia, Baltic Republics, and on Ukraine.
Showed aircraft is from III/KG 2 in camouflage from StolpmΓΌnde exercises in mid-70ties, and had 4 anti-radar missiles under wings.
Crew: Pilot: Obstlt. E.Netzer an WSO: Hptm. H.Altcke

This is the Tupolev Tu- 28 Fiddler. In service with The East German Air Force; that was created AFTER the Soviets took over East Berlin after WWII.
