1997. Softimage 3.51I did some work a while back for a video game called Riven: The Sequel to Myst. You might remember it. This is a shot that I rendered at high res that never appeared in the game.

My dad and I used to play this together.. the scenery was incredible. I came across your piece with the spider plant and was instantly reminded of the game. Fantastic!

i first looked at the picture and the first thing that came to mind were RPG games and tropical adventures.. then took a look at the comments.. and i was like.. WOW!... you are incredibly talented and it feels great to hear that you have participated in projects like game animation that actually made a difference! excellent work! and good luck

I have this game, and I remember this area, though not from this veiwpoint... If I recall correctly, there are the aquatic manatee-like creatures on the rook, and then they slide off and swim away when you get the bottom of the stairs... Or something like that... I haven't played the game in forever!

i loved that lagoon and the strange animals that were in it! it's the part of Riven which i remember the most clearly.

Riven was hands down the best of the series. Exile was just as visually stunning, but not as compelling. I've been a little disappointed by what came after.

wow, i remember Riven! tried playing it when i was around 12 i think and never managed to comprehend either Riven or Myst. but i still played because the scenery was so beautiful... especially the lagoons. i think i still have the game somewhere in a box... you've inspired me to go find it, haha.

Man, I started playing this game when I was five. it was the first game that i really got into. The Myst games are what inspired me to get into CAD. Tell me, what part of production did you work on? Also Were you only working for Cyan during Riven or did you go on to work on Exile and Uru?

Just two mounths ago i determined I would finish that game ( I have it for years and years now, almost since i was little). I finnally got to the last riddle and i know how to solve it, its just now that i have finnally made it i got nostalgic and dont want to finish it anymore.
