1997. Softimage 3.51I did some work a while back for a video game called Riven: The Sequel to Myst. You might remember it. This is a shot that I rendered at high res that never appeared in the game.

I think the lagoon was one of the best places in the game.
I always did love the design of the stairs xD

Never did play that one, though I did play Myst (erkh...I liked it but it's really hard!!)
This reminds me somewhat of Myst: Exile. Did you work on any of that one?

OMG! RIVEN! I remember the many hours spent cussing in frustration abruptly cut off by awe at the amazing landscapes in such an early PC game! I always thought it was just photographs! wow.

Stone and water combinations are absolutely stunning. I know it's an older piece, and your new stuff is visually eatable and drinkable, but i like this theme quite a bit!

I could never get into the games because I was always so frustrated... but I loved the graphics. Not only is it beautiful, but I love how the rocks look like an elephant.

Me and my gran nearly completed Riven until my mum went on and clicked on the window in the book (at the bit where you're imprisoned in Riven and there's two books you can leave by - she picked the wrong one ¬.¬

OH GOD! You did that! I play Riven and I love this shot! Its the one where the dinosaur sits on the rock and if you go slow enough you can get really close to it! That is so COOL!!!!

i remember playing this game a bit when i was little but i never really understood it. thats why my dad played. even though i never really knew what was happening i loved it anyhow, and the art always captivated me.
i recognized this shot and clicked on it, and it turns out it WAS from Riven after all.
