Description I found these weird drawings while I was working on an archaeological dig with the University out near the abandoned air strips outside Coast City. I'm not quite sure what to make of them. They appear to be manufacturing instructions for what looks like some sort of device shaped like a ring. I haven't been able to make out the writing or the strange numbering system. Maybe they provide some clues to what this is or where it came from. It almost looks like some sort of particle accelerator, but why would someone make an accelerator the size of a ring (if that's even what this is)? A particle accelerator this size couldn't possibly be powerful enough to be much use for anything. Could it? And the strange material this is printed on is another mystery. It light as a feather but tough as steel; and yet it's flexible and ultra-thin like paper, but the edges don't cut my fingers or even feel sharp. One of my old college buddies is a low-level mechanical engineer at Star Labs. I thought I'd run it by him, so I emailed him a photo. Unfortunately, he and his wife are expecting; so, he's trying hard for a promotion and claims he doesn't have the time. He grumbled something about not wanting to make waves asking around about private projects while his boss is watching. So, I guess that's out. Maybe my neighbor Hal knows something about it. He's some kind of hot shot test pilot at the airport near where I found the thing. Maybe I'll ask him.

Heh heh heh. I love the story. Just be careful about showing Hal - your alie-- ahem, ancient piece of parchment may inexplicably vanish back to whence it originally came. Also, nice artwork. It would be interesting to see the translated specs for a Power Ring. Maybe then I could make my own....

It would be nice to see some similar instructions ripped out from the Book of Oa.

It's funny you say that. I thought of making it look more like a page from the Book of Oa ... after I had just posted it. Oops. I like that idea. I think for a page from the Book of Oa (at least the one shown in the Blackest Night series) it would have to look less like a blueprint and more the shape and color of a traditional book page, maybe with a jagged edge like it was torn out. Also, I think at least some of the pages in the book are full color and not just black and white or two color. It's a cool idea. Maybe soon...

I'd say different styles of pages for different rings.

Hal's ring in a retro style with a border. [link]

Kyle's or Sinestro's ring in a more modern style (like in Blackest Night).

You could also do a variant with Zamaron notes (by literally taking a page from the Book of Oa).

That is my suggestion.

Awsome!!! Hey do you think you can make a Blue/Green lantern ring mix? Just asking.

Thanks.

Not sure if I understand. Do you mean a single ring that is a hybrid of the Blue and Green Lantern rings? Like something in between?

Oh yeah... And what is a Green Lantern? This is just some drawing I found out near Ferris Air near Coast City. It's all Greek to me.

No probs.
Yes. But it's power sourse would be faith somthing between hope and will.
And it's a superhero's wepon called the green lantern ring.

Hmm... I might take some time and just think about some ideas for it before I do something. I've often wondered what it would like to have more colors/emotions represented than just the seven in the comics. (if you count will as an emotion that is).

I do and may I suggest that you use this shade of the colour [link] blue/green for the ring. If you decide to make it of course.
