Not quite there in my opinion. Too similar to its 60s-90s sci-fi counterpart, the operator's chairs, consoles, oval screens seem quite wrong. My feeling is that there is a need for brass portholes and telescopic viewing devices, glass/brass pop up screens, different control types, no plastic. I suggest that the doors and surrounding wall are unfinished as are the plated sections above the workstations, I'd hazard a guess that you haven't completed this one or did not feel entirely happy with the interim result. The captain's chair should be replaced by a semi-circular brass railing set where the captain and first mate can stand. That uniform is too traditional and does not inspire respect. A long coat, epaulettes and a hat would seem to be the absolute minimum, a captain without a hat? Unthinkable.

This is a fine basis for another revamp just as you did with the engine room.

I'm glad you like it. Do you mean share the model and textures? I should right,? I'll have to consider that.

Yes indeed, that is what I mean. I'm part of a star trek group who would seriously love to have this model. It's a real beauty.

It means a lot to me that you guys like this work, this is the only Trek group that I am a member of, but I don't think I'm ready to turn the model over for general use. At least not now. Another thing is I've been an art teacher at 3 different institutions including Indiana University. I have a personal wish to see others develop their own craft. I don't have any moral concerns with artists sharing resources, appropriating content, or even torrents, but as a teacher of art, I would feel a little bit uncomfortable with a share of this scope. I AM totally flattered by the request though, and in the future will consider content sharing with my work.

I've had no formal art education whatsoever, everything I do is self-taught and most of us in the group share our work. We even help each other with the creation of models, since everyone has their own strengths and weaker points.

What I love about the SPE bridge is the eye for detail, you really made quite an impression.

I do appreciate what you are saying. And in fact there are a couple of elements in this model that I borrowed from a stock model that someone must have shared at some point long ago. I downloaded some meshes from a website in like `98, when I was still using Bryce, and found it in my models library. I have no idea who to credit for it. Mainly the seats. I was going to remodel them but I was like what's the point as they looked perfect.

A formal art education is not for everyone, and the school I attended my undergrad at emphasized appreciation and study of "outsider" artists. My hope is that my knowledge of composition, concept, aesthetics, color theory, as well as technical knowledge of multimedia software can be the resource that I bring to this group. If there is a need for critiques, tutorials, workflow methodologies, or any other supportive function, I welcome the opportunity.

Exterior is here: fav.me/d9a3cl1

I was just saying in a another reply that I will need to revisit the exterior to step up the LOD compared to this.
