i do like the subject matter and the colors are great! but this type of work can easily be done in illustrator using live trace... not that i am saying you used it but i am just pointing out the irrelevance of vector art. i fooled around with that stuff for quite some time... and found that illustrator is a great program to convert already made images... or bitmaps from photoshop into print material, or tracing curves of characters or any other object to be modeled for import into a 3d application, such as maya, and 3d smax modo or what ever application is to your liking or budget. this defiantly gets 3 stars. good work.

Oh I agree with you, that reproduction of pictures through autotrace is pretty rediculous, although you can only accomplish really one style with that jazz. My friend ripped out 8 or 9 illustrations in like a week, and I was like oh you bastard! Except it wasnt photo realism. I use illustrator all the time for my 3d splines into C4D. I think there are alot of advantages to illustrator based on what you are doing. For GD Illustrator is key.

I know where you are coming from... Flash is actually a really good image converter also, you can even make logos really quickly in Flash as well.

I love your work! Great style and motion through out everything. You make excellent work of the glory that is photoshop...

Once I get a Wacom Ill prolly spend loads of time in photoshop. oooohh.... a Cintiq! That is also once I get some time on my hands.

Thanks for the comment!

as for photoshop, dude i been messing around in it with little to no outside help for maybe a year and some change. everything i know about art i get from past experiance from treditional mediums. (paint pens pencils ink ect.)

sorry stupid 4 am.

It definitely shows. I have a heavy traditional background and the digital world really opens up alot of doors. The things I love about digital... ctl+z and no cleanup, but it does take some time to get used to. I believe with traditional means you can be alot more intimate with your piece, because you can actually physically interact with it. Print cant always match the same colors that you can create with paints either.

yea the day ill see a cintiq... eventually ill take a lease on it.. but to be honest i love my wacom. i rather invest in a duel core and a 12x16" for like 900 bucks or how much ever that thing is. that cintiq is too heavy with a price tag at 2400 i think ill stick with spending a few extra bucks on the pny fx 1500 that will run me about 1300+ tax. get a bunch of ram maybe an extra monitor and i will be set to go.

as for photoshop, dude i been messing around in it with little to no outside help for maybe a year and some change. everything i know i get from outside influence. more recently i find my work lacking though, its probably very modest of me if i where to say i suck but i guess you are only as good as how high you aim.

on the topic of flash, i find it to be a good web tool, to use in combination with illustrator and photoshop. but outside of that i think its just very restricting. vector cartoon on the flash engine just dont quite cut it for me. i need the post process, i need to the final touch on everything. and besides there is nothing you can do in actionscript you cant do in java or php or asp. its like a solution to everyday life problem... no way is the right way so long as the end result works.

I may have to come to you when I am deciding on what tablet to get. Have you seen the Nulooq from Logitec? I want one of those also. Im looking to drop some cash on a mac... once it is in my budget.

If someone were to ever think that their work wasnt lacking in some aspect, isnt looking hard enough... or they are just cocky. lol. Modesty is very important! People around me think I'm "amazing". I have the internet...lol, I know that I am still a novice(at least in my eyes, and that will soon be remedied). I believe that everyone knows they can do better... sometimes you may suprise yourself... then there is the people who think that they are gods gift to art...

Flash for animating something from scratch.... blah. There is alot of terrible use of flash, but there is some amazing stuff too. You can do some cool stuff importing actual images into it also. All the animations I do, I use After Effects, Cinema 4d, 3DSmax. After Effects is my baby.... lol. Photoshop meets video.

I think there are amazing things you can do with flash. It has really revolutionized the web. its beautiful how well it can work with php, browsers, and javascript. The greatest thing about it is... you dont have to worry about multiple browsers. You run into table issues across browsers and everything else. Besides with the flv integration into flash, you can pull sweet video, vector, graphics and code all into one.

The result is all that matters.

its very hard for me to switch from wacom. it might be pricey but it the price you pay for reliability. i cringe at all the horror stories people tell me about their tablets giving in, because of that i most the the time rather pay a few extra bucks and get the worst of the best then vice versa. alas right now i must stick with my intuos 2 4"x5" its small and there is just enough room for it on me desk! (the pull out keyboard thing is busted so i have to be creative when it comes to space over here)

i was actually thinking of digitizing that jester character of mine. i like him quite a bit. ill have to draw up some templates for it. but alas between working on my graphic novel (which mind you have only about 40 words done toward the script) updating my website looking for a 9-5 to pay for my university and this slowly creeping into the bleeps on the radar i have no clue how i am going to time manage all of this. and speaking of webdesign essentially you have to code a version of the site for EI one of firefox and one for opera. which sucks. they should have converters for that type of stuff. btw do you know if the marginhight and marginwidth parameter for EI works? for some reason when i open it in EI 6 it completely ignores that option, while opera and firefox seem to work just fine.

lol, yah.... I have so many bleeps on the radar it is disgusting... but it is all my fault... lol. juggling 20 different projects at a time can wear you down after a while.

I have my own place now, so space shouldnt be an issue...

I sent you a note about the site.
