Great pic, I favorited and commented some time ago. I occasionally return to it, because I'm a fan of the fictional Mr. Dresden, and I find this picture to be phenomenal in terms of capturing the moment as it occurs in the book.
My question to you, if I may, is just how much do you need to know about your subject, such as Mr. Dresden, to feel comfortable with drawing a character that already has a fan base? Or does the artist in you run free, your own opinion and critics be damned?
In other words, you did such an awesome job, did you read the book or scene?

Oh my God. This is AMAZING! THe colour, the expression - brilliant! Just brilliant. He looks quite fearless though - I think he was sh**ing himself in the actual scene though. Wonderful work.
