I've been sick...sleeping and coughing and sneezing. Mostly just drinking hot tea and hanging out in bed. I'll be back soon...hopefully to watch my own digital commission, which I simply must order!

he was only originally allowed 13 times, but they changed it pretty recently. it's a small part in an episode of sarah jane adventures, called death of the doctor, where they "explain" it (though it should be taken with a grain of salt).

Yeah, but the writers also said that that was something of a jest, and that the "13 lives" was so ingrained into the fans' psyche that it couldn't be retconned. Although that's not to say that it won't be circumvented.

that's why i said to take it with a grain of salt- they changed the number, but they weren't taking it very seriously in that episode. i just wish someone would tell us straight out, you know? either way, i hope they change it!

I'm pretty sure the doctor can regenerate infinitely now. I think originally, he could only do it several times, but that has been retconned in the storyline.
