I actually ship them to be honest.
(I still like Blossom x Brick)
So a few days ago, I was browsing though 4chan and found a thread where they talk about the character from the PPG reboot.
(Yes, I use 4chan and I do shit.)
Jared Shapiro, and the writer of the show, Jake Goldman are indeed look alike and turns people's thought that "he insert himself to become a romatic interest of a child."
This was spread from 4chan to Tumblr and other social sites.
They creeped out and accused him for being a "pedophile fanfiction writer."
I'm also one of them who creeped but I didn't much accused him since I don't have much information behind it and I almost leave the ship.
I did laugh while reading the thread replies though and they even make jokes about it. You know how 4chan works.Β
But overall, these aren't true at all. I believe that Jake is a respectful man and io9 speaks of it: This Creepy Powerpuff Girls Theory Isn't True, Thank God
So I stay on the ship and sail. XDDDDD
Not sure but I think these theory is still on 4chan but it'll be fade out soon.

I'm not saying that's what he's like. I'm sure the crew thought it to be a little joke by the crew.
But when you add a character like that. That's what it comes across. And that makes him and the crew look bad.

I have to say, that I don't really like the character Jared, but I don't hate the writer for doing it.
They maybe thought of some little joke for the series.
But hey, these people should rather critisize the concept of the episode, where Jared appears, not harrassing the writer to make it worse.

I think the self-insert character should have been the same age as the Powerpuff Girls. But still, I don't hate the writer and I don't condone harassment towards those who actually like the shipping. Hell, I was treated like crap for being a SonElise fan.

The character IS the same age as the PPG.
No one thinks that way because the character and the writer have the same face which they even thought they have the same age too.
Well, I wouldn't mind if some people out there will bash me for shipping these two. (I mean, some people unfollowed me for shipping Frisk and Sans in Undertale Fandom)
Harsh words may hit my emotional states but it won't hit me physically.
Plus, this is basically an internet so harassment and bullies are the two things I should expect.
Most of us doesn't like those two words but we can't avoid them since they love to play other people's emotion.

I'm sorry, far be it from me to judge a person's motives for unfollowing someone whose art they like, but it seems a rather shallow reason to do so based on them being rightfully skeptical of a claim that spread far quicker than anyone who cared to question it could catch up with to bring some level-headedness to the table. Β Or perhaps you're convincing yourself something about me the same way you convinced yourself something about Jake Goldman before seeking its validity by attempting to disprove it.

What Skully said to you and Jerimin was really uncalled for! I might not like the idea of the writer shipping his older self-insert with Blossom in a canon reboot, but that doesn't mean I'm gonna treat those who enjoy the shipping like crap. I'm faving the art because I think it's turned out pretty well and because I shall not treat who like the shipping badly.

Β According to the article linked in the description, "the character of Jared Shapiro was created by writer Haley Mancini and co-executive producer Bob Boyle, and Mancini was the principal story writer for the character". And "the artists modeled Jared after Goldman because he fit the character, and figured itβd be fun if he voiced him too."

The evidences you know is not strong which these information has not been proven to be true.

The writer's name is Jake Goldman, and the character's name is Jared Shapiro.
And for any story, if at any point our only source is hearsay and conjecture spreading through word of mouth, and we have no contribution from the accused party, that is indeed a rumor. Β Only once the viral comments are confirmed from the accused (or some other form of hard evidence arises) is it no longer a rumor. ^^
