hey there.loving the image, but i am wondering about your comment on unsharp mask from the exif i have noticed that you have used quite a high aperture of f4.5 and a very fast shutter speed. im just wondering wouldnt be better using a lower aperture e.g F11 or F16 to capture more detail in the sky/background? my guess you have also used the kit lens? this lens is at its best between f7-f16
anyways you probably used those settings for a reason
just wondering! good work

haha...if you notice when the photo was taken...it was back in may of 06. I used to not have a clue how to really use the settings on my camera. I was just than starting to try to learn real photography. I am not a fan of this image...it has way too much photoshop done to it and its overall just not a very crisp image. If i had to make up an excuse, which i dont caus i just told you the reason, I would say it was a sunny day and I had to shoot the shot fast considering it was private property so I did not have time to fix my settings. N E ways...thanx for the comment...and yes now that I know a lot more about photography....i would have used a lower aperture to bring out more detail...unless you want a lot of DOF in your landscape photo..you should almost always use a lower aperture to bring out the most you can from the scene.

i also use unsharp mask on clouds to make them more dramatic. but i get a lot more deterioration in quality. what settings do you use? or is it just because you're using a digital rebel, and I'm using a compact camera?
btw, this is a great shot!
