Description
"If Death is the answer to love's mysteries... then bleed on my darling to the sound of a Dream."This is Dream (also known as Morpheus) and his older sister Death. They are part of a mysterious and powerful family of natural forces called The Endless.
This is my second attempt at a painting in photoshop with no lineart. I'm pretty proud of it, considering.
It took me approximately 3.5 hours (I redid Dream's face like four times cause I'm a perfectionist.)

Hey, does it ever explain why Morpheus speaks in a different bubble (the black blobs)? Or is it because he's the main character? I've never read the comics myself, so.

not to my knowledge, no.
yeah, I think it has something to do with the fact that he's the main character and they want the bubbles to stand out between him and others. Also he's a spooky dream lord guy, so the bubbles are probably also for some sort of dramatic emphasis. He probably has a dark crackly voice.

well they are pretty expensive... especially if you plan on owning all 11 of them, not including the spin-off comics and everything.
I don't own them all either, but my uncle owns a comic store so he has his own collections of all the good books and I get to read them from time to time.

They're making a Preacher tv series, faithfully based on the graphic novels. Each episode is supposed to represent stories from each comic. I'm pretty excited about it for sure.

Whoa. This is killer. I don't know where they're from (the Sandman is a movie, if I'm thinking right?) but when I saw this my mouth dropped open.

The Sandman is a series of graphic novels/comics written by Neil Gaiman. They were thinking of making a movie about it, but Neil was appauled with the script and scrapped the idea. However, Neil himself is going to be directing a movie based on the side-story comic book "Death: The High Cost of Living". So with any luck, you may soon be seeing the lovely Death in her own full length movie x)
It wasn't as tough as I thought it would be, seeing as I'm so used to sketching out lineart first. I just got the vision in my head and went with it.

Yes, I would deffinately recommend it. It's a beautiful mix of horror and fantasy. The comics focus on Morpheus, the king of dreams, while he travels on his adventures, through reality and dream-worlds.
Plus it was put out by DC's Vertigo label... which is the company responsible for greats like 'V for Vendetta', 'Stardust', and 'Hellblazer' (Constantine), aswell as some of the wonderful 'Tank Girl' series.
