My friend Rachel told me to read the Books to the the Bartimaeus Trilogy. and i luved the books!! heheh they are soooooooo good. lol and very funny. well i enjoyed the books so much that during class i would draw the characters the way i saw them. this sketch is actually my first of Bartimaeus, the most lovable djinni in the book. the flying chef guy is also a djinn named Farquel (sp?) and the boy is Nathanial the young magician. lol the top part ws just a fun thought and the bottom picture is of a scene from the first book Bartimaeus: The Amulet of Samarkand. and yes Bartimaeus is in Ptolemy's form for djinns never quite show their true form in public. i drew him as an egyptian boy with dreads...yes with dreads cuz i thought that it would suit him.Bartimaeus,Nathanial, and Farquel are coprighted to Jonathan Stroud

My favorite demon (disrespect!, lol) was Ramuthra, the monster from the first book.

lol. I don't remember Queezle. Ramuthra was better than Nouda though. >:} I was attracted to it's sheer power! Remind me who Queezle was again.

Queezle in the second book was an partner and good friend to Bartimaeus during the time of Prague and the fall of the empire, she reappears in the present to assist Bartimaeus in hunting down the golem, they have a nice chat, reminisce on old memories. When they leave each other for a moment she was attacked by the golem and Bartimaeus goes after it for revenge.

lol yea she was a female djinn, i read alot of things, i have the book but i never followed it too much through but i know what happens in it, i just wish there was more of a continuation after the original trilogy and not a prequel

That's true. I hate it when they get away from the main issue (regardless of it being finished). I do remember Queezle (in the female guise), lol. I'd read Ring of Solomon only if it contains more information of the Other Place. But I think we've gotten the essentials, lol. I'm in the process of constructing a story and before I knew it my friend said my mechanics strongly resembled Bartimaeus Trilogy. That's when I read the series (have to do research). Remarkably, it DOES! A bit disconcerting but impressive. I'm taking a different tack though.

thats very interesting to be making stories, well i only began to read them because I got tired of harry potter books turning out the same (even though i love the series)

Ah. Couldn't get into Harry Potter, seemed bland to me. I find the Inheritance Trilogy better, and Bart Trilogy better than Inheritance. Do you know of any other books like Bart? Want to build my repertoire.

yes, everyone has a different point of view of bartimaeus, but i prefer others versions over mine, mine are just simple versions of how i would prefer to see him in my head.

yeah, or she somehow survived and then Barty and her at the end and there'd be some pretty emotional scenes that followed, but no... :C
