Honestly? I didn't use a pattern when I made mine XD Except for the head, and that was just to establish size.

I usually think, cut and then sew. No measuring at all.

I hear ya there, I never measure. I take a piece of paper, draw the pattern piece on it, cut it out, pin it to some fabric, and then cut the fabric. Or I just cut the fabric straight.
