You gotta think- Professor Layton, he's used to strange villages and mysterious magical horrors, but Phoenix.... well save channelling, he's new to this. Not to mention he and Maya were mind wiped, and then insulted when Darklaw mentioned they were afterthoughts.It's enough to leave anyone traumatized. Not to mention, Phoenix saw Maya 'die'... and we know how protective and defensive about her. Maybe he'd start to realize how much he cares for her.... *cough* *cough*

Hnnggghh, even though I already got spoiled on the ending custcene of Chapter 4: The Golden Court which I like to call the "Rescue and Retribution Cutscene", the beginning of Chapter 5: Taste of Despair is what really drives it home dame! *_* To see Phoenix lash out at someone like that, fist on the ready, that's something I've never seen before! And to see Nick so darm devastated he couldn't even sleep, with the memory playing and replaying in his mind like that, kinda reminds me of the Matt Engarde case!
Asdaf, forgive the rambling, but, that part was just so feels-filled I still love it to bits to this day! TT_TT I can see this picture happening the night they got out of Labyrinthia (they left in the morning I think?). Waahhh your unique art style fits the mood of the artwork very well! *_*
