Energy rifle that shoots right through walls, secondary fire projects a static energy shield repelling kinetic projectiles

Yeah flat shield are pretty common based on WW2 mobile turret (a concept that extend to these day) it the "buckler" style that i do like.
But the Auger piercing effect look really nice

Gun shields are also a nifty idea. You trade visibility for an extra layer of defense.
It's even better since it comes with a infrared scope so you can see your enemies behind the walls, giving you and easy chance to ambush them. Definitely my favorite medium to long range rifle in that game.
