A moment, then the captain of the picture in Star's room was the father of Eclipsa? Very well, I understand that Marco believed that the painting spoke to him when he heard certain things about the blood moon, which made him go by Star and ended up linked by the moonlight, and later it is revealed that the picture does speak because it is a creation of Eclipsa that protects a secret passageway. Now I see that Eclipsa wanted to make her creation to remember her father, and that painting is the reason why Star and Marco are destined to be together.

i doubt that's actually the case
eclipsa always knew about secret passageways, even as a child, this scene in itself just expresses she knows about the castles' secrets.
Her father, the sea captain, did speak, that was confirmed, and since eclipsa was imprisoned it was not because of her.
it does not mean anything about "Star and marco are destined to be together".
But what it DOES mean, is there is someone pulling the strings in the background, someone has a reason for forcing marco to go and it was not to make him and star date.
