I wanted to try that style, with the neutral color paper/board. Where do you get it? That looks like a sheet of like...I dunno... rough unbleached cardstock.
I can't find full reams of gray or tan construction paper, either. I don't want all the other colors.

i do all my daily sketches on smooth strathmore bristol board. its 11" x 14". I take the cardboard back and do sketches on the back and front. I got that idea from I saw him do this when we were in SanDiego. Check out this awesome piece he did!

Ohhh, ok.
I wish Strathmore just sold stacks of that cardstock backing without the sketch paper. I've drawn on white for much too long. I need something to hopefully inspire me and kick my art-mojo back into gear.
I was checking out the "How to draw Star Wars" videos with Matt Busch on [link] and one of his techniques was doing the positive-negative space on a neutral color just for setting up his larger works. Looked like a neat idea, so I wanted to try it, but regular corrugated cardboard creases and newsprint tears.

uphold the law! I remember my dad taking me to see robocop 2 when I was a kid! damn those where the days rated R movies where a nuked up brain gets ripped out of its giant robot and smashed on the sidewalk. sigh they dont make them like that anymore

yeah the robocop movies were hardcore and super violent. i can't believe my parents let me watch the first one when it opens up with a cop just getting mutilated. that movie was nuts.
