Description Project: Ghost Body Suit
Tools used: 3d Scan, 3DSMax, ZBrush, Photoshop

So i want to sew a ghost body suit, that fits ME perfectly. I was lucky enough to get a 3d scan of myself so...

1. I took a clean version of that mesh into ZBrush, i tried my best to clean up the clothing lines in the mesh. I painted on the seam lines i am gonna use.
2. Using the masking tool, i outlines each pattern piece and then extracted the mesh. I then decimated the hell out of the mesh so i could...
3&4. Port it into 3dsMax. I flatted the UVs on those meshes, and you can see my UV outline on the body suit
5. The UVs!
6. The outlines for those UV elements, this step is gonna need a bit more clean up before i print it out and turn it into a pattern.

what's next! printing, cutting fabric, sewing it all up! I found some EL wire and some other cool stuff i might use to make this light up. we shall see!! ^_^

i am working on the final pattern right now. i added a cut for to divide the outer side of the leg and the outerside of the main torso part.
it should help make it more manageable.

Interesting. Sounds like it will definitely make it more manageable.
Several of my former architecture professors once told me, 'that even
though you are done with the project, you can still work on it and
keep improving it'. I think it goes along with any kind of project.

the downside with sewing something is that there is a definitive end point O_O
like, cutting the fabric is the point of no return. there isn't a whole lot you can do to fix something if you cut it wrong.

That's true. I know you won't make a mistake! I
know that you have thought this through.
If you do, then just start over and learn from your
mistakes.

Ooo! This is cool!
I always love seeing designs set out like this, I'm a real sucker for this kinda stuff -_-
Plus it's nice to see I'm not the only one who goes about designing stuff this way too
I can't wait to see the later stages of this. The Molotov costume was awesome, I expect great things from this one

I assume the full body scan was done at Blizzard's mo-cap lab? Nice to see you look as good in polys as you do for real

...Seeing this makes me want to have another go at learning zbrush! -_-

I am glad you're digging this! ^_^
I'll definitely keep posting stuff as i get it done.

Yeah, i have 2 body scans, 1 from blizzard and another while working with Meats Meier for the Siggraph animation mother.

and lol, these polys... don't feel very flattering? i prefer myself all clothed. ha!

I am going to clean up the pattern this weekend and get it in scale to me. like, i know it'll fit me, i just have to do some measurements.
